Taylor Swift name as 2016 Highest Paid Women In Music (See Top 5 List)

26-year-old Singer, Taylor Swift has been named as the highest female singer by Forbes in the year 2016.

According to Hollywoodlife, not only does she get bragging rights for making a whopping $170 million, she has the satisfaction of knocking off nemesis Katy Perry, 32, who claimed the top spot in 2015!

This proved to be Taylor’s highest earning year ever, with the massive success of her 1989 world tour which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars, shattering the previous record held by the Rolling Stones.

She also had endorsement deals with Apple, Keds and Diet Coke, even though those added up to only $3 million in chump change.

Adele, 28 came in second with $80.5 million in earnings, but in a reverse of Taylor’s situation most of her moolah came from album sales, as 25 was the top-selling album of 2015. Her giant world tour will end up in 2017’s total so look for her to be back toward the top of the list again next year. Madonna, 58, proved age ain’t nothing but a number grabbing the number three spot. She brought in a whopping $76.5 million, which came mainly from her Rebel Heart tour further proving that hitting the road is where the big money is really at in music.

Poor Katy didn’t even make the top five in 2016, though that’s to somewhat be expected since she didn’t release a new album and her Prism tour money was what made her the top earner in 2015. Rihanna ranked number four on Forbes list right behind Madonna with $75 million. She had one Hell of a year with tons of radio hits, successful touring and her massive endorsement deals Dior, Puma and Samsung among others. BeyoncĂ© completed the top five with $54 million, counting Lemonade as her sixth number one album and had a monster tour in support of it.
