BREAKING: One Shot as Supporters of Senator Dino Melaye and Kogi Governor Clash in Gun Battle

The supporters of the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaha Bello, and that of the Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, are currently involved in a clash in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.

According to a report by Punch newspaper, Dino Melaye who had arrived in Lokoja to address his supporters on his recall from the Senate attracted gunshots from his supporters and those of the state governor that lasted for over one hour.

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has guaranteed the peace and safety of all non-indigenes, especially the Hausa and Fulanis living in the state.

Speaking through his special adviser on non-indigenes affairs, Musa Maigoro, Ayade said his government has met with all the stakeholders of the northern community to assure them of their safety and that they should go about their legitimate business as they are very free to live in any parts of the state.

Governor Okowa’s Aide tells FG: Declare June 12 as Public Holiday


The Political Aide on Special Duties (Media) to the Delta state Governor  Mr Ossai Ovie has urged the Federal Government to declare June as 12 public Holiday.

Ovie made this known in a statement at Asaba yesterday, while noting that the Presidential election of June 12 1993, will forever be in the political history of Nigeria.

Arrest Abdullahi or ‘all hell will break loose’ on October 1 – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has called for Ango Abdullahi to be arrested or “all hell will break loose” on October 1.

Fani-Kayode, who questioned why there were no Christian commanders in the Nigerian Army, labeled the Arewa youths as “rebellious, recalcitrant and bloodthirsty dogs”.

Pope Francis Threatens To Fire Nigerian Priests

Pope Francis has laid down an ultimatum to defiant Nigerian priests: lose your job if you don’t obey me and your bishop.

According to a report by Associated Press, Pope Francis met June 8 at the Vatican with a delegation from the Ahiara diocese, southeast Nigeria where priests have been refusing to accept the 2012 appointment by the then pontiff, Benedict XVI, of the local bishop.

A Chieftain of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, has said President Muhammadu Buhari is a dictator pretending to be fighting corruption.

Giving reason for his claim, Adebanjo pointed out that Buhari’s refusal to obey court order and release former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and his silence over Fulani herdsmen attacking Nigeria is an indication that the President has no regard for the rule of law.

June 12: Full speech of M.K.O Abiola that got him imprisoned, killed

The speech made by the adjudged winner of the June 12, 1993, Presidential election, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (M.K.O.) before he was arrested and allegedly killed in detention has been further distributed as Nigerians, mostly the South Western States honour the late business mogul today.

M.K.O. Abiola was adjudged to have won the June 12, 1993, election which has been described as Nigeria’s “freest and fairest” election ever, but died on July 7, 1998, on the day he was to be released.

Donald Trump is set to face two lawsuits today after being accused of violating the US constitution. The lawsuit is to be filed today by the attorneys general of Maryland and the District of Columbia (both Democrats), and it alleges that foreign payments to the president’s businesses violate the US constitution.

BREAKING: Osinbajo signs 2017 budget at 3pm today

Senator Bello noted that the country was almost collapsing under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari, while noting that he did a lot to put the current government in place.

Imo bank robbery: NBA to sue Police, Zenith Bank for abandoning victim’s family

The Owerri branch of Nigerian Bar Association on Monday said that it would sue the Nigeria Police Force and Zenith Bank for allegedly abandoning the family of heroic Police Sergeant, Chukwudi Iboko, who died during the February 22, 2017, robbery which took place at the Wetheral Road branch of Zenith bank in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

Sergeant Iboko, who killed one of the four armed robbers in the attack, suffered severe gunshot injuries and died the next day in a police clinic in Owerri after he was allegedly rejected at the Federal Medical Centre, Owerri.

Saraki, Dogara storm Aso Villa as Osinbajo assents 2017 budget

The leadership of the National Assembly, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara will witness the signing of the 2017 budget into law by the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa.

Prof. Osinbajo is expected to sign the budget at a low-key ceremony scheduled for 3:00pm on Monday.

Former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, has revealed reasons he annulled the June 12, 1993 Presidential election which Bashorun MKO Abiola, was adjudged the winner.

Babangida said he was compelled to nullify the election because of security threats to the enthronement of a democratic government at that time.
