Artisans, Housemaids to start paying tax in Lagos


The Lagos State Government on Tuesday announced that it had widened its tax net to include domestic workers and artisans. The Chairman of the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Mr Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, made the announcement at a news conference in Alausa.

DJ Arafat pull the smack down stunt on a fan for jumping on him on stage


Ivorian singer, DJ Arafat loose his cool and gave a fan a serious smack down for jumping on him while on stage. Arafat was performing when a young man jumped on stage, climbing him. 

Instead of simply shoving him off, Arafat then proceeded to stomp him with his feet and his bodyguards then did the rest.

Yunusa Dahiru: 'I Slept With Ese, But I Didn’t Know She Got Pregnant'


Yunusa Dahiru, the alleged abductor of Ese Oruru, has admitted that he impregnated 14-year-old girl. He made the confession at the premises of the Federal High Court, Yenegoa, where he was arraigned.

The young man was arraigned on a five-count charge of abduction, illicit sex, among others.

During an encounter with newsmen outside the court room, Yunusa admitted impregnating Ese but claimed that he was unaware until the Police told him, following the medical report on Ese.

So the mum of two, Kim Kardashian who has never shied away from showing off her body seems to be surprise on how the Internet reacted to the nude photos which she posted yesterday. Well maybe because that same people are now tired of seeing your nude pics.

In a post she titled "Happy International Women's Day," Kim addressed her tweets from last night.
Kim wrote:
"Hey, guys. I wanted to write a post elaborating on my tweets last night. In all seriousness, I never understand why people get so bothered by what other people choose to do with their lives. I don't do drugs, I hardly drink, I've never committed a crime and yet I'm a bad role model for being proud of my body?" 

REPORT: 18 persons confirm dead in Lekki building collapse


According to report release, 18 persons including a woman and her child have been confirmed dead after a five-storey building under construction collapsed early yesterday in Lekki, Lagos.

Thirteen people were rescued from the rubble by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)

NEMA SouthWest media coordinator Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the death toll and the number of those rescued.

The incident occurred at Horizon 1, Lekki Gardens in Ikate, at about 3am when it was raining heavily. Many workers believed to have been trapped in the building.

Ekiti Lawmakers disclose they are being offered $1 Million to Impeach Governor Fayose


Members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have raised the alarm over plot to coerce them into impeaching Governor Ayodele Fayose, saying a sum of $1 million was being promised some of the members that will be ready to be part of the impeachment plot.

The Assembly members, who vowed not to collaborate with anyone to truncate the government of Governor Fayose, added that; they were prepared to spend the rest of their tenure in DSS cell, instead of joining people that they roundly defeated in five straight elections to cause another political instability in Ekiti State.

Addressing the press on Tuesday, Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon Gboyega Aribisogan disclosed that “In the last four days, eight of our members had been visited by some men, who claimed to be officials of the DSS.

Buhari to Zuma: "MTN Nigeria Helped Boko Haram Kill More People"


President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said South African mobile phone operator MTN Nigeria fuelled the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria by failing to disconnect millions of unregistered users.

All mobile phone operators in Nigeria were ordered to disconnect unregistered SIMs by mid-2015 on security grounds but MTN missed the deadline.

Nigeria’s communications regulator last October slapped a $3.9bn fine on the Johannesburg-based firm, which has since paid out $250m towards the penalty.

Nigeria Gallant Troops of 26 and 28 Task Force Brigades foiled an early morning daring attack by fleeing Boko Haram terrorists on military locations at Pulka and Bitta in the fringes of Sambisa forest.

Today, troops of 114 Task Force Battalion came under three-pronged attack by Boko Haram terrorists fanning out of Sambisa forest from Damboa, Tokumbere and Pulka axis.

At the end of the debacle, 2 Boko Haram insurgents paid for their atrocities with their lives while several others sustained gun shot injuries. The fate that befell those that attacked Pulka was more dreadful.

Federal Government employs Ocholi’s son, gives others Scholarship


The Federal government has offered automatic employment at the Federal Ministry of Justice to Aaron Ocholi, the only surviving son of James Ocholi, Minister of state for Labor and Employment, who died alongside his wife and son in a fatal accident along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Sunday March 6th. ‎ Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, disclosed this today when he visited the bereaved family.

Malami also disclosed that the late Ocholi's other children will enjoy scholarship programmes from the Federal Government. Aaron is a law graduate who was called to bar in October 2015.

Yinusa Dahiru, Ese Oruru’s Suspected Abductor Arraigned


Yinusa Dahiru, who is alleged to have abducted Ese Oruru has been arraigned at the Federal High Court in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The suspect was arraigned before Justice Nganjiwa and accused of conspiring to commit abduction.

The suspect had five-count charges read out against him and he pleaded not guilty to all.
