His announcement comes a few months after he was arrested for DUI.

African Development Bank (AfDB) director-general for Southern Africa, Dr. Tonia Kandiero, has died after collapsing in her office in Pretoria, South Africa.

AfDB Malawi’s Benson Nkhoma, who confirmed her death said AfDB was still investigating the cause of death, but she had “complained of health issues” prior to her collapse on Wednesday night, June 28.

A Nigerian boy identified as Emmanuel Ugochukwu survived freezing temperatures after stowing away in the front wheels of Medview Aircraft from Lagos to London and back. According to Sahara Reporters, he got on the plane on Saturday, July 1.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has defended his consistent flouting of bail terms handed to him by the court before his release from detention.

Mr. Kanu, in a video interview with some journalists that had emerged recently, claimed he could not abide by his bail conditions because President Muhammadu Buhari disregarded court orders to free him and other but was not questioned.

Two middle-aged bricklayers reportedly drowned in a 40-foot well in Akure, the Ondo State capital, weekend, in their bid to recover the can they were using to fetch water.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained at press time.

An eyewitness told Vanguard in Akure that the incident occurred at Omu Street along Old Ondo Road in the metropolis.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has expressed shock over the deployment of military personnel in over 28 states in the country.

Dogara spoke in Abuja at a “Capacity/Interactive Needs Assessment Workshop of Security Sector Related Committees in the House of Representatives” on Monday.

He said the development showed that Nigeria was already in a state of emergency at peace time.
