The US Government Has This To Say About the Postponment of Nigeria 2015 General Elections


... And this is what the US Government has to say about the postponment of the 2015 General Elections:
The United States is deeply disappointed by the decision to postpone Nigeria’s presidential election, which had been scheduled for February 14. Political interference with the Independent National Electoral Commission is unacceptable, and it is critical that the government not use security concerns as a pretext for impeding the democratic process. The international community will be watching closely as the Nigerian government prepares for elections on the newly scheduled dates.

PDP welcomes postponement of the 2015 General Elections


The PDP has welcomed the postponement of the general elections. Reacting, the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Femi Fani-Kayode said the decision made by INEC was in the interest of the whole nation as well as a move to deepen our democracy.
"Since this decision has been taken in the interest of deepening democracy and in national interest, we accept it in good faith and we commend INEC’s courage and obvious commitment to ensuring a free and fair election. With this decision, INEC has allayed the fears of many of our citizens that they may not have had the opportunity to vote for the candidates and parties of their choice on Election Day.

Report: At least 40 dead in violence at football game in Cairo


At least 40 people have been killed and dozens injured after clashes erupted between police and supporters of Egypt's Zamalek football club at a game in Cairo, medics say.

According to witness accounts, police tried to set up barricades and used tear gas to disperse football fans trying to force their way into the army-owned stadium in the city's northeast on Sunday.

The Egyptian Interior Ministry said that the clashes occurred after supporters of Zamalek, known as Ultras White Knights, tried to attend the game without buying tickets.

Congratulations to the Ivorian, well deserve Nations Cup! Goalkeeper Boubacar Barry was the hero as he sealed the Africa Cup of Nations for the Ivory Coast in a dramatic penalty shootout with Ghana.

Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry was the hero for his side as they defeated Ghana 9-8 in a dramatic penalty shootout following a goalless 120 minutes in the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Barry - who appeared to be struck down by cramp on two occasions during the shootout - was only selected because Sylvain Gbohouo picked up an injury in the Ivory Coast's semi-final.
