Five DELSU Lecturers Risk been Sacked over Sexual Harassment

A total of five lecturers of the Delta State University, DELSU, located in Abraka may be kicked out following the recommendation for sack by a disciplinary committee set up by the institution to investigate various offenses including sexual harassment of female students and financial extortion for marks.

The recommendation comes days after a lecturer of the University from the Department of Primary/ Nursery Education was caught pants down in an hotel with a student of the school.

The new recommendation trails the dismissal of three lecturers 13 months ago on account of alleged professional misconduct.

The dismissed lecturers included a lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts who was caught pants down with examination scripts in a 400 level student of his department’s room.

According to Vanguard, the University is yet to issue an official statement as regards the matter. However, the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Edward Agbure said that the fate of the lecturers lie in the decision of the DELSU Governing Council.
