Lagos State Government commences historic Medical Helicopter Emergency Service In Nigeria (PHOTO)


Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, this morning commissioned the first ever medical helicopter emergency service in Nigeria. The commissioning of the helicopter pad took place at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital LASUTH.

Valencia and Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi and Premier League side Arsenal have agreed transfer terms, his agent is reported to have said on Thursday.

Budget padding: Nkem-Abonta says 340 Reps backs Yakubu Dogara to remain as Speaker


The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions, Uzoma Nkem-Abonta, has disclosed that Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara enjoys the support of most lawmakers of the lower legislative chambers.

Nkem-Abonta made the disclosure while reacting to allegations by former Chairman on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin that some principal officers of the House attempted to pad the 2016 budget to the tune of over N40bn.

Jibrin had also accused Dogara of bribing lawmakers with $25,000 each to sign a vote of confidence register opened at the Speakers guest house in Abuja.

Driver clones his boss credit card stole N2.9m within 3 days


A three-man robbery syndicate was on Wednesday paraded at the Lagos state police command.

The suspects, including a driver who identified himself as Mayowa Adenuga, allegedly cloned the credit card of his employer, (oga) an unnamed businessman and stole about N2.9 million from his accounts within three days.

Adenuga said he had collected his boss’ Automated Teller Machine, ATM, card while he was washing the vehicle.

The Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Bala Ibn Na’allah has said the current problem facing Nigeria was not created by the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government but by Nigerians and the past administration.

This is as Na’allah insisted that the ruling party underestimated the level of damage done to Nigerian economy by the last administration when it offered change during the 2015 Presidential campaign, Daily Trust reports.

Magistrates Court grants man N200,000 bail for stealing carpet


An Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court on Thursday granted N200,000 bail to a 32-year-old man, Adeyemo Niyi, for allegedly stealing carpet and rug.

Niyi, of no fixed address, is facing one count charge of stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Augustine Ozimini, told the court that the offence was committed on May 31 at about 12:00 p.m. at Jos Carpet Company, Abiola Way, Abeokuta.

Police apprehend 39 Eiye cultists during 8/8 anniversary celebration


No fewer than 39 suspected cultists have been arrested in Ogun and Lagos states metropolis.

Their arrests followed intelligence report of their plot to wreak havoc across the states during their 8/8 (August 8) anniversary, a practice which has been described as a norm among them.

Some residents of Fakale, Igode and Emuren communities; Odo Kekere, Odo Nla and Itapara within the LGAs and some other LGAs sharing boundaries with Lagos state had reportedly fled their homes for fear of being lynched during the alleged cult anniversary.

The Ministry of Education has released a new schedule of fees for all Unity Schools in the country.

The announcement was made since June 2016, contrary to the claim by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, that there was no raise.

The disclosure by parents that the government had increased fees from N25,000 to about N70,000 per term, sparked controversy last week.

Cement truck falls off on Zamfara-Sokoto highway (PHOTOS)


A truck fully loaded with cement skidded and somersaulted some few kilometers away from Talatan Mafara along Zamfara-Sokoto Highway. According to officials of Nema Sokoto who rushed to the scene for a rescue mission, no one was trapped inside the truck when they arrived but were informed that the driver who was seriously injured was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Starting on October 1st, FRSC will implement use of speed limit devices on all commercial vehicles


The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will on October 1st commence the enforcement of use of speed limiters on all commercial vehicles nationwide. Corps Marshal of FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi announced this during a meeting held at the FRSC National Headquarters Abuja yesterday August 10th with stakeholders from relevant government agencies and road transport unions in attendance.

Police are looking to arrest a man on a charge of burglary after allegedly breaking into the garage of a home in order to charge his cellphone, according to police in the United Kingdom.

Bassingbourn police said that the incident unfolded on Sunday around 3:00 p.m., after the homeowner came home from work and noticed his garage door was open.
