A highly graphic video clip making rounds online and social media, shows a man writhing in pain in the pool of his blood after his hand was chopped off as multiple reports suggest he is a thief and was allegedly attacked with a machete by a vigilante shop owner.
Some reports have it the man who local media claim has a criminal record, tried to steal from a shop in Porto Alegre but was caught in the act by the owner who chopped off his hand with a machete.
While the details of how the man met such a predicament is still not ascertained as at the time of filing this report, other online reports suggested that the man had been attacked by a rival criminal for operating on his 'patch'.
It was gathered that Rio Police have launched an investigation into the incident as the victim is said to have been taken to hospital and is understood to be in a stable condition.
