Governor Ambode to open N31.5bn Novare Lekki mall for business


Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will perform the official opening of the Novare Lekki mall in Lagos, on Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Interestingly, the Foundation Stone laying ceremony of the Novare Lekki Mall was done by the Honourable Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji-Fashola, while he served as the Governor of Lagos State in October 2014.


According to the Chairman of Novare Real Estate Africa, the promoter, Professor Fabian Ajogwu SAN, the Novare Lekki Mall is driven by foreign direct investment (FDI) valued at over $83 million (R1.245 billion) that is N31.5Billion, and is funded by a mixture of equity and debt financing.

With 22,000 square meters of gross lettable area, it will be the largest mall in Africa’s most populous city.

The Centre Manager of the Novare Lekki Mall Mr. Johan Blom, who represented of the managing director of the Novare Real Estate Africa, said, the Mall is a world class shopping complex with state of the art facilities and exquisite architecture built to the highest international standards and set to be one of the largest retail shopping malls in West Africa.

With Shoprite and Game as anchor tenants, the mall has close to 100 shops, including restaurants and five Genesis Deluxe Cinemas, as well as 1,000 parking bays. Other tenants will include Adidas, HealthPlus, Pep, MTN, Tantalizers, Swatch, Levi’s, Spur, Nike and Stanbic IBTC Bank.

Also speaking at a media briefing in Lagos , a director of the Company, Peter Bamkole, an engineer, noted that the relevance of this project transcends financial value, from the development stage until the date that it becomes operational.
“The mall, which is expected to empower over 5,000 Nigerians with direct and in direct employment, he said, is easily accessible from the Lekki-Epe Expressway and it is expected that many of Novare Lekki’s customers will come from new housing estates in the Lekki Peninsula area.”
