Don’t retaliate, continue to pray for Nigeria - RCCG begs members over Murdered Preacher

The international headquarter of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has appealed for calm over the murder of its member, Mrs Eunice Elisha.

The female evangelist was attacked and had her throat slit in the wee hours of Saturday, July 9 at Bazango, Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Although the police had earlier arrested six persons in connection with the homicide, four persons have been freed after they were cleared of any involvement.

In a statement on Tuesday, RCCG’S head of Media and Public Relations Department, Pastor Segun Adegbiji, advised members worldwide to remain calm and not to take the laws into their hands.

Continuing, he said, “We are indeed in a sad mood in RCCG. As sweet as heaven is, the death of our youths is not what we wish for.”
“We shall not cease to pray that God will end the bloodshed in Nigeria and all over the world.
“We sympathise with the widower, our pastor, Elisha Olawale and their seven children.
“Our Mother-in-Israel, Pastor Folu Adeboye and Pastor Emmanuel Ibitayo of Region 10, Abuja, paid a condolence visit to the family on Sunday.”
Others who have visited the family of the late Deaconess include RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, wife of the Vice President, Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo, among others.
