Senator Ahmed Markafi-led Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has faulted the suspension of the embattled Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal, and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ayo Oke, insisting that the duo should have been arrested.

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has uncovered fake and unregistered products valued at over N200 million. The products, confiscated through a whistle-blower’s report, were stocked in a building at 11, Omotosho Crescent, off Ewedana Street, Toll Gate, Ota in Ogun State.

How Militant group killed eight pirates, kidnappers in Bayelsa


The Niger Delta Revolutionary Council, NDRC, a militant group in the Niger Delta region, clashed with a gang of sea pirates and kidnappers at Azuzuama, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, leaving eight leaders of the pirates, including the leader, “General Thunder,” dead.

The group claimed that its strike force invaded the den of the sea robbery gang and engaged the members in a gun battle.

Not less than three soldiers have been killed by an Improvised Explosive Device planted by Boko Haram insurgents. The soldiers were attached to the 82 Division Task Force Battalion of the Nigerian Army in Borno.

According to reports, the soldiers were on patrol along the Ngoshe-Pulka Road when the IED exploded.

Over 30 people are feared dead at a football viewing centre in Calabar, the Cross River State capital on Thursday after a high tension cable fell on them.

Channels Television correspondent in Calabar reported that the live electricity cable broke from its mooring and fell on the viewers.

Court orders forfeiture of N449 million found in Lagos shop


Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday ordered the temporary forfeiture of N449, 750,000 found in an abandoned Bureau de Change shop on Victoria Island, Lagos.

He ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to advertise the order in a newspaper.

The judge said anybody interested in the money should report in court to justify ownership.

The building, located at 16 Osborne Road in Ikoyi, has nine floors of 19 Apartments and two penthouses.  It is owned by a former Peoples Democratic Party chairman, Ahmed Muazu, who retained for himself the penthouses, 10A and B; as well as Apartments 11A and 11B.
