Some fake beggars who disguised themselves in order to deceive their unsuspecting victims -were recently uncovered in China. The fraudsters who disguised themselves as handicapped citizens without legs -had no problems standing up once they were investigated by local police.


Locals first alerted police to the case after beginning to suspect that they were manipulated. The on-call police officer unwrapped the cloth around one beggar’s "missing" leg, only to find definitive proof that the man was faking a handicap. After an investigation, police found three beggars using this ruse to beg for money. 

Governor Yahaya Bello Heads To Germany From Dubai For Eye Surgery


Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has been admitted to a hospital in Germany for eye surgery. The Governor was in Dubai en-route Germany for the operation, which is expected to correct an eye ailment that had been troubling him for some time.

Punch quoted a senior official in the state as saying that Bello travelled with some close aides and officials for the surgery.

It was gathered that the state Commissioner for Works, Land and Housing, Abdulmumini Sadiq, who earlier travelled with Bello, returned to Lokoja, the state capital, a few days ago to run some errands for the governor.

Suspended Lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin Vows Never To Return To Nigeria



The suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, on Monday, vowed never to return to Nigeria unless his safety is guaranteed.

Jibrin made this known in a statement in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that Jibrin, left Nigeria for London last week to receive an award and take his anti-corruption campaign to the international community.

He was suspended for 180 legislative days by the House of Representatives after accusing the Speaker, some Principal Officers and a few other members of corruption, abuse of office and monumental fraud in padding up the 2016 budget.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Mahmud Mohammed, revealed yesterday that the judges facing allegations of corruption were asked to step down because it was confronted with proof of evidence against some of them.

The judges were arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) between October 7 and 8, following which the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and some senior lawyers asked the judges to stop presiding over cases, pending their trial.

CAN calls for justice over woman killed on alleged blasphemy


The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged the Kano State government and the inspector general of Police to bring to book those responsible for the alleged killing of a Christian woman in the city.

CAN said it was deeply sad by the news of the “release without trial of the five suspects accused of killing a 74-year-old Christian woman in Kano, Mrs Bridget Agbahime”.

She was murdered sometime in June.
