Yesterday, the Honourable Member Representing Okigwe South Federal constituency, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, visited IMO state University teaching hospital maternal referral centre, Alike, Obowo, where surgery operations in his ongoing free medical outreach services are carried out.
For the first time, he was able to visit the theatre room as he was conducted round by the team of surgeons in order to see things by himself.
Briefing the Honourable Member earlier one of the medical Doctor, Mr Onuigbo, disclosed that a total of 100 patients, all from Ihitte Uboma local government area, which is having her turn, have been recommended for major and minor operations and that 20 have undergone successful operation. In addition, he said 10 minor surgeries were equally recorded today.
Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, later visited those who were recuperating from their sick beds and wished them speedy recovery.
