Former Chelsea and Spurs boss has replaced former England chief Sven-Goran Eriksson on an £11million-a-year deal

Andre Villas-Boas has been confirmed as the new head coach of Shanghai SIPG.

The Portuguese coach replaces ex-England chief Sven-Goran Eriksson, after he was sacked following the end of the 2016 season.

A woman missing since August has been found chained up “like a dog” in a padlocked metal container in rural South Carolina, officials have said.

Kala Brown, 30, was discovered inside a shipping container after police heard a banging sound when they arrived at a property in the town of Woodruff with a search warrant.

Police said Todd Kohlhepp, a 45-year-old registered sex offender who owned the property, was arrested.

INEC to Senate: You can’t dictate to us on re-run


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday said that the Senate couldn’t dictate to them on when re-run elections will hold in Rivers and Anambra states.

The Senate had, on Wednesday, threatened to suspend sitting indefinitely if the electoral body did not conduct rerun elections in Rivers and Anambra states before December 10.

Kano State High Court presided by Honourable Justice Dije Abdu Aboki has convicted and sentenced one Aliyu Suleiman to 195 years imprisonment.

The convict was arraigned by the EFCC on September 30, 2014, for allegedly stealing over N21, 000,000 (Twenty-one Million Naira only) from Albasu Microfinance Bank. Upon his arraignment, the convict pleaded not guilty to all the count charge brought against him by the EFCC.

Troops of 8 Task Force Division Nigerian Army on a fighting patrol along Monguno-Brimari road, Borno State, today intercepted a group of Boko Haram terrorists suspected to be on a mission to loot logistics supplies in surrounding villages.

Cameroon To Build Largest Sports Complex In Africa


Cameroon is set to build its largest sports complex to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019. The Japoma sports complex will hold a 50,000 seat stadium, a sports hall, an Olympic swimming pool, a handball court, gym, a large pool, two training courts, tennis courts, an annex of the national Football Academy, a shopping centre and landscaped areas according to the Cameroon Tribune.

A Turkish company will build the complex which is expected to cost around $143 billion with 75 percent of the project financed by the Turk Eximbank.

An evil husband has bitten off his wife's nose after she refused to return home and agree to his dowry demands. Raj Kumari married Shiv Prasad two years ago but when the pair separated last year, Shiv, 23, continued to demand a luxury dowry from his wife's family.

He wanted them to pay him around £1,800 and buy him a motorbike. The 21-year-old woman moved out to live with her parents in Lakhimpur Kheri, in northern India, but Shiv continued to harass her.

A Chinese resident, Mr Shang, got more than he bargained for after parking his SUV in front a restaurant to meet friends. He was shocked to find his car in the middle of a garbage pile -few hours later.  He said he parked his car by the roadside, without noticing that it was right outside of a trash collection station's entryway.

A cleaning worker nearby came and yelled at Shang after he returned to his car, as the worker explained angrily that his car was parked right on the driveway of the station and blocked garbage trucks that needed to enter to unload the trash.

EFCC, Boss Ibrahim Magu reveals that forces are plotting to tarnish his image


The acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has alleged that some forces not comfortable with his campaign to rescue the nation from the vice grip of corruption are plotting to ruin his reputation.

Magu in a statement on Thursday, November 3, through the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, said those behind the plot were already spreading campaigns of misinformation in the social media intended to impugn his integrity and set him against certain interests both within and outside of government, Premium Times reports.

A Nigerian journalist who simply goes by the name, Abdulkareem, and has some details of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, has revealed what he knows about the army chief.

Buratai had been accused of corruption with some Nigerians saying that he was being shielded by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. 

Abdulkareem was part of the team that followed Buratai to the core of the north-eastern part of the country ravaged by insurgents. Some states most affected in the region include Borno, Adamawa and Buratai, months ago, travelled to a village where he passed the night with soldiers.
