Imo State | Nigeria Customs Impound Contraband Goods Worth Over N1Billion (Photos)


The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone C, Owerri has recorded a total of two hundred and thirty-one (231) seizures of contraband goods with an overall Duty Paid Value (DPV) of one billion, nine hundred and fifty-seven million, five hundred and twenty nine thousand, three hundred and seventy-five naira (N 1,957,529,375.00) in the third quarter of the year 2016.

This is in contrast to the three hundred and seventy-nine (379) seizures with a DPV of two billion, two hundred and twenty-four million, two hundred and forty-five thousand, seven hundred and ninety-seven Naira (N2,224,245,797.00) impounded in the year 2015.

Woman donates 2,038 ounces of breast milk after losing her son after birth


A mother who gave birth to a stillborn baby has donated more than 2000 oz of breast milk to help other moms.

Three days after she lost her baby, she began her “lactation journey” and has now helped out six moms and their babies by donating 2,038 ounces of her breast milk.

She posted a photo of herself on social media pumping her breasts with pictures of the babies she has helped surrounding her.

Writing on Instagram she explained her reasons behind lactating for other moms.

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has sent a strong warning to her husband that he might lose her support if he does not do something about the current administrations.

In a BBC interview, Aisha Buhari said the president "does not know" most of the top officials he has appointed.

She suggested the government had been hijacked, saying a "few people" were behind presidential appointments.

Mr Buhari was elected last year with a promise to tackle corruption and nepotism in government.

National Judicial Council condemns arrest of judges by the DSS


The National Judicial Council (NJC) yesterday condemned the arrest of some judges by the Department of State Services (DSS).

It described the action as a threat to the independence of the Judiciary, which portends great danger to our democracy.

The judicial body also described the arrest of judges as a clear attempt by the DSS to humiliate, intimidate, denigrate and cow the Judiciary.

There was commotion in Omu-Aran, Kwara State after a 20-year-old SS1 student Moji Agboola, died on Wednesday after committing suicide by taking poisons substance due to her poor performance in her promotional examination.

Her mother, Abigel, said Moji took a poisonous substance three weeks ago and was taken to a church for prayers and deliverance after which she was rushed to the hospital where she died.

The Republican businessman devoted much of a Florida speech to defending himself against multiple reports of inappropriate sexual behavior accusations that he blamed on Hillary Clinton's campaign and the news media.

EFCC: We’ll investigate Tinubu, Dame Patience, others


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said it will probe the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience; ex-Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and others over corruption allegations.

The Deputy Director of Operations, EFCC, Iliyasu Kwarbai, said this shortly after he received a petition from Human Rights Defenders and Advocacy Centre group, which staged a protest to the EFCC’s Lagos office.

The petition urged the EFCC to probe Patience Jonathan, the source of APC campaign funds used in the last elections, Tinubu, Amaechi and some former presidents of Nigeria.

$13.9bn illegal Repatriation: Senate summons MTN, banks

Nigerian Navy intercepts barge with stolen 120,000 litres of crude oil


The Nigerian Navy has intercepted a large metallic barge transporting about 120,000 litres of crude oil suspected to be stolen from pipelines in Rivers.

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral James Oluwole, announced the seizure on Thursday while inspecting the barge at Elem Kalabari, Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Oluwole said the barge was intercepted in the early hours of Wednesday by troops manning its house boat in the area.

FG urges Nigerians to Make hand washing a habit
