The Military says it has successfully repelled an attack by the Boko Haram terrorists at Kangarwa in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno.

Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, the Director of Army Public Relations, said in a statement in Maiduguri that the operation was carried out on Friday.

According to him, the operation was carried out with the assistance of the Nigerian Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance planes.

President Obama warns "don’t underestimate Trump"

Kogi State youths celebrates the return of Ponzi Scheme, MMM

Youths all around the Kogi state capital city of Lokoja on Saturday were at several beer parlours to celebrate the return of the controversial Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM), a Ponzi scheme that froze the accounts of 3 million Nigerian members in December, causing panic and anxiety.

The scam returned yesterday, a day before it’s initial comeback date of 14th January.

Most of the revellers were students of the state-owned polytechnic in Lokoja.

Borno Government unfold Baby factory in Gwange Area

Borno Government on Thursday said it discovered a baby factory where children were being sold in the state.

The Commissioner for Justice, Mr Kakashehu Lawal, stated this at a press conference in Maiduguri.

Lawal said that four women alongside the principal suspect were arrested for taking part in the crime. He said that the “trend is a notorious fact which occurred in Galadima area in the state capital.’’

A woman tried to smuggle her boyfriend out of prison by hiding him in a pink suitcase but got caught when she struggled to pull it along on her way out.

The attempted jailbreak took place in the Jose Antonio Anzoategui prison, better known as Puente Ayala, located in the state of Anzoategui, in north-eastern Venezuela.Antonieta Robles Saouda, 25, went to the jail with a six-year-old girl to visit Ibrain Jose Vargas Garcia, who is serving nine years and eight months after being convicted for car robbery.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday at the presentation of a book, Religion and the Making of Nigeria, written by Prof. Olufemi Vaughan, the Nobel laureate imagined what the world would be if religion had never been invented and condemned killings in the name of religion saying he wondered how any rational being could attempt to justify homicide  as an act of devotion.

There was drama at the Uniting Reformed Church of Southern Africa on Sunday when the new reverend was arrested during his sermon, Daily Sun SA reports.

The police took away the man of God, Reverend Samuel Motsoare into custody at the church in Seshego zone 1, Polokwane, Limpopo, as he and 12 other members had been issued with an interdict to stay 50 metres away from the building.

Abubakar Ali, a 33-year-old man, was on Thursday docked at a Kano Magistrates’ court for allegedly biting off his wife’s ear.

A mother and her boyfriend allegedly planned the rape and murder of her 14-year-old adopted daughter for over a year, Dailymail reports.

The man identified as Jacob Sullivan was on Sunday morning charged with the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Grace Packer. A few hours later, Sara Packer was charged with homicide and 'related offenses.'

During the investigation, Sullivan admitted both were responsible for her murder while in hospital last week after a failed suicide attempt. Grace was reportedly raped by Sullivan while her mother looked on for sexual enjoyment, according to Philly.com.

Pretty Mike was arrested on Wednesday, January 12th, 2017 by the police on the orders of the Lagos state government after his photos with girls on dog chains went viral.

Police say PrettyMike cooperated with them, gave them a useful statement and was released after signing an undertaking to desist from putting any woman or man on a leash to dehumanize them.

335 Foreigners Get Nigeria's Citizenship

Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday granted citizenship to 335 foreigners and rejected 165 applications.

The Minister of Interior, retired Gen. Abudulrahman Dambazau, said on Wednesday that the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Nigerian citizenship received 500 applications and recommended 335 of the applicants for approval.

Osun State | Muslim State Civil Servants Insists On Wearing Hijab For Data Capturing

Charms Ltd, a private firm in charge of the ongoing data capturing of Osun State civil servants, has been accused of denying female Muslims their “right to freedom of religion and dressing”.

Some of the female workers, who spoke to Channels TV, alleged that the agency was forcing them to remove their head cover for data capturing.

One of those who claimed to have been a victim said she was asked to open her head which she declined and her refusal to remove the hijab made the agency deny her the right to do the screening.
