Indonesian Govt request Nigerian Embassy to visit 4 Nationals before execution

Indonesia has given a group of death row inmates 72 hours notice before they face the firing squad. Authorities have been making preparations, with death row drug convicts transferred to Nusakambangan prison island (pictured) where Indonesia puts convicts to death.

See one of ISIS knifemen who murdered 84 year old priest in France

One of the ISIS knifemen who stormed a church in Normandy and slit the throat of an 84 year old elderly priest has been named as known terror suspect, 19 year old Adel Kermiche.

Kermiche had been arrested twice in both France and Switzerland for attempting to flee France to join ISIS in serious and was being monitored with an electronic ankle tag.

Despite having been released early from prison, Kermiche's bail conditions allowed him to move about freely without supervision between 8.30am and 12.30pm every day.

Oyo State | UCH Emergency Unit gutted by fire

The Accident and Emergency Unit of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan was yesterday gutted by fire.

The unit’s central air conditioning systems and other equipment were destroyed by the fire.

Witnesses said the blaze, which started around 4:15pm at Medical Store Casualty Unit, was caused by a gas explosion from the central air condition.

The University of Ibadan (UI) fire truck was the first on ground to quell the fire before the Oyo State Fire Services joined with two trucks.

The blaze was stopped by after 5pm.

Gov Ambode says his government replicate Dubai Marina in Badagry, Epe

Bishop Mathew Hassan-Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto has stated that the current government under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari is only fighting the symptoms of corruption and not the disease.

The cleric made the statement at a programme organised by the Book Readers’ Club of Ibadan School of Government and Public Policy (ISGPP) in Ibadan on Tuesday.

10 teachers die every month in Lagos – Perm Sec

The Lagos State Teachers’ Establishment and Pension Office (TEPO) on Tuesday said that an average of 10 teachers die each month in the post-primary teaching service of the state.

The Permanent Secretary of TEPO, Mrs Sewanu Ayodele-Amosu, made the disclosure at a Sensitisation Seminar and Capacity Building on Healthy Living for Post-Primary Teaching Staff of the state.

She said that apart from sudden collapse resulting in either temporary or permanent confinement in bed, the disturbing rate of deaths among teachers in the state called for concern.

NANS says they will take President Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade to Campuses

Members of National Association of Nigerian Students have declared support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s ongoing anti-corruption campaign.

The association made the its position known in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by its acting President/National Convention Chairman, Mr Prince Miaphen.

It said that the students were in support of the move to recover all funds stolen by corrupt former public officials and civil servants, noting that corruption had for long remained the bane of Nigeria’s development.

Gonzalo Higuain move to Juventus for €90m

Juventus has completed the signing of Argentine superstar, Gonzalo Higuain.

He was the Serie A’s leading scorer with a mind-boggling 36 goals in 35 games. The fee is reported to be around €90m.

Juventus will pay in two instalments and have already made a payment of €45m with the rest to come later.
