Unknown to many, the keenest contest for the Ooni’s stool against Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi (Ojaja 11) last year came from his immediate elder brother, Adetunji. The two brothers have many things in common, being blood brothers from the same father and mother.

Both of them are big players in the real estate sector, particularly in the Lekki-Ajah axis of Lagos. But while the things they have in common had strengthened their relationship over time, the contest for Ooni’s stool resulted in a family feud, as Prince Adetunji refused to step down for his brother until their father mounted pressure on him to yield the stool to his younger brother.

Twitter CEO confirms 140 Character Limit Is Here To Stay

Sometime early this year there where reports circulated that Twitter was exploring expanding its 140-character tweet limit and a lot of people weren't please with the idea, but according to CEO Jack Dorsey, that restraint is here for good.

“It’s staying,” Dorsey told NBC’s Today Show in an interview on Friday. ”It’s a good constraint for us, and it allows for of-the-moment brevity.”

Former SA in GEJ government says Obasanjo still a key member of PDP

Former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe has declared that former President Olusegun Obasanjo has not left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It would be recalled that Obasanjo denounced his membership of the PDP last year when he ordered the chairman of the party at his ward in Abeokuta, Sunmonu Oladunjoye to help him tear his PDP membership card publicly.

Before then, Obasanjo was not having a smooth run with the then leadership of the party as a result of Jonathan’s quest to secure second term in office.

SECURITY ALERT: Female bombers now disguise as men - Defense HQ

In a means to finally shut down the activities of dreaded Boko Haram Group, the Nigeria military authorities have called for vigilance on the part citizens because “female bombers now disguise in men’s clothing” to carry out attacks on soft targets.

A statement issued by Rabe Abubakar, defence spokesman, on Friday, stated that Boko Haram insurgents were determined to keep on carrying out attacks, hence the resort to a new trick.

Facebook and Twitter in race to obtain rights to stream live TV

Two social media platform giant Facebook and Twitter are currently battling to win the right to stream conventional TV programming. 

According to the Post, both companies, eager to ramp up their capacity to deliver compelling live streaming video, have approached programmers about a deal for such rights, several sources familiar with the situation said.

Court award Hulk Hogan $115 million as compensation in sex-tape suit

Former WWF wrestler Hulk Hogan on Friday was awarded $115 million with the possibility of more after court found the Gawker website violated his privacy by publishing a sex tape of the celebrity wrestler.

According to Reuters, after deliberating six hours, the jury awarded Hogan $60 million for emotional distress and $55 million for economic damages.

"This is a victory for everyone who has had their privacy violated," Hogan's attorney, David Houston, said.

A six-year-old schoolgirl, Oluwajuwon Akinsanya (picture above) has been abducted by unidentified persons at the Ojo Military Cantonment, Lagos. The primary one pupil of Maryam Bliss International School, Ojo, was said to be sleeping in the room with her parents in Block II, Flat 5, Engineer Quarters, when she was whisked away by the abductors.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the men also stole the phone, money and recharge cards (vouchers) of the victim’s parents.Her mother, Yetunde, told the publication that the family had yet to be contacted by the abductors since the incident happened in January.

She stated that she had visited more than 200 places seeking help, adding that she was sexually harassed in one of the religious houses she visited.

Kristhielee Caride, Miss Puerto Rico 2016 has lost her crown just four months after winning it and also the beauty queen lost her chance to compete in the Miss Universe pageant because of a “terrible attitude.”

The trouble started when Puerto Rican paper El Nuevo Día published an interview with the newly crowned victor on Monday. The headline “Miss Puerto Rico 2016 Sick Of Cameras and Interviews” ran above a photo of Kristhielee flipping through her phone while at an event at a local mall where she was supposed to meet with the public.

The Miss Puerto Rico profile openly questioned the role she won in 2016 as they spoke about how she was extremely cold with the audience and, in general, not seen behaving in a beauty queen-like manner. The article described her as “bored.”

Gov Akinwunmi Ambode re-open Mile 12 market

The Lagos State government has re-opened the mile 12 market, which was shut following a violent clash in Agiliti area.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, announced the re-opening of the market on Thursday, weeks after it was shut down.

The State’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, said the decision to re-open the market was reached after a meeting with stakeholders.

VIDEO: Runaway ISIS fighter Says Joining Group Was A "Bad Decision"

A 26-year-old American who claims to be a runaway ISIS fighter spoke out Thursday, three days after surrendering to Kurdish military forces, saying he “made a bad decision” to go to Iraq and join the terrorist organization.

“At the time, I made the decision to go because I wasn’t thinking straight,” a man identified as Mohamad Jamal Khweis, of Virginia, said in a heavily edited interview with Kurdistan24. “On the way there, I regretted (my decision), I wanted to go back. So after things didn’t work out, I didn’t see myself living in that environment. You know, I wanted to go back to America.”

President Buhari To Address National Economic Council

President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at a two day retreat, organised by the National Economic Council (NEC) which will begin from Monday, March 21.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, will chair the retreat, with governors from the 36 states of the federation attending.

The Central Bank Governor and the Budget & Planning Minister are also among other top government functionaries that would be present at that meeting.

89 Members of Boko Haram Group sentence to Death in Cameroon

Cameroon has sentenced 89 members of Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram to death, local media report.

They were convicted on terror charges by a military court for their roles in several attacks .Cameroon passed an anti-terror law in 2014 which introduced the death sentence.This is the first time the death sentenced has been used since that law was passed.

She initially appeared not to notice the slip-up and continued to jump up and down.

Celebrities email, iCloud accounts hack; Pennsylvania man to plead guilty

A Pennsylvania man has agreed to plead guilty to a felony computer hacking charge after authorities said he illegally accessed private phone and email accounts of celebrities such as Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence to leak information including nude pictures.

The U.S. attorney for the Central District of California charged Ryan Collins, 36, from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, according to court documents filed on Tuesday.

Collins signed a plea agreement to plead guilty to a felony violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. He faces up to five years in federal prison, with a recommended prison term of 18 months and a fine of $250,000.

The case has been transferred from California to the Middle District of Pennsylvania, where Collins is expected to surrender and plead guilty. He will be sentenced at a later date.

Emmy Award winner, Larry Drake dies at 66

Larry Drake, the actor best known for his award-winning role on L.A. Law, died Thursday in his Los Angeles home, according to his manager Steven Siebert. He was 66 years old.

“He was a great person,” screenwriter and friend Charles Pogue tells EW, “genuine sweet, smart, gentle man. A very loyal, good friend.”

Drake was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Feb. 21, 1950. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma.
