Two social media platform giant Facebook and Twitter are currently battling to win the right to stream conventional TV programming.
According to the Post, both companies, eager to ramp up their capacity to deliver compelling live streaming video, have approached programmers about a deal for such rights, several sources familiar with the situation said.
Facebook, which is already pitching the NFL to acquire rights to a new Thursday Night Football digital package, has been in meetings with a wide variety of TV executives over the past few weeks, sources said.
What this simply implies is that once either of the two win the bid, users of the platform will be able to watch live telecast of such even live on their media platform i.e for football lovers, just imagine you are able to watch the UEFA Champions Final live on your Facebook or twitter page, that would be awesome!
