Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, on Thursday, July 9, 2015, was left fuming after a Federal High Court in Kano ordered that he remanded in prison till September 28.

This was his words after the court hearing:

“You mean I am now a prisoner?” the former Governor reportedly said when he was being ushered into a vehicle for the journey to the Kano Central Prison.

Crystal Palace complete signing of French Midfielder Yohan Cabaye

France midfielder Yohan Cabaye reunite with former Manager Alan Pardew with whom he played at Newcastle United after completing a club record signing from Paris Saint-Germain to Crystal Palace, the transfer still subject to international clearance. Cabaye moved to Selhurst Park on an three-year-deal.

"I'm happy to be here. I've been waiting for the decision, had the medical and now I can't wait to focus on my new team, a new season and my new life," Cabaye told Palace's official website.

Court grants Ohakim N270m bail for N270m fraud

You go fear the power of law! According to LIB, Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Imo state governor, Ikedi Ohakim bail of N270 million in a N270 million fraud case which he is standing trial for. The former governor was arraigned over a N270 million fraud he allegedly committed in 2008 while he was governor. 

While delivering his judgement, the judge ordered EFCC officials to seize the former governor's passport and other travel documents and deposit it at the office of the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court until his bail conditions are met. Justice Adeniyi however did not state where the accused will be remanded. 

A Four-storey building collapses in Yaba, Lagos

According to report from LIB, a 4-storey building said to be under construction collapsed in the Sabo area of Lagos this afternoon. Not sure if there were people in the building at the time of the collapse.

A Stoke statement said:  "The club would like to place on record its thanks to Steven and offer him our best wishes."

Fake Police Officer nab in Lagos State after 12years of impersonation

The Lagos State police command has nab one Godwin Akhenamen 33, who have impersonated to be a police officer for the past 12 years.

Akhenamen was arrested on Tuesday, June 30, by policemen attached to the X-squad Department around the Ikeja area.Punch gathered that Akhenamen, who was arrested in uniform, was apprehended while on a fake duty post in a business district. 

A police source said the suspect wore a uniform meant for spy policemen, while the force number on his uniform was “unusual”.

4yr old girl died after swallowing lithium battery

So sad! This should be a warning to mothers, to be extra careful what they leave their kids to play with. A 4 years old Summer Steer reportedly died in 2013 from complications after swallowing a small lithium battery. Although she taken to the hospital 3 times, the doctor could not ascertain the cause of condition.

According to ABC News, an inquest heard that Summer went into cardiac arrest after ingesting the button-shaped battery on June 30, 2013, despite doctors telling her mother she would be fine.

Summer, from Queensland, Australia, was taken to Noosa Hospital after she began complaining of a sore stomach, a high temperature and black bowel movements. She later began vomiting blood and collapsed at home after being discharged by doctors.
