Rivers rerun: Police recover N111 million bribe from INEC officials (PHOTOS)


Police on Tuesday said it recovered more than N111 million from electoral officials alleged to have been bribed by Rivers State government during the December 10, 2016 rerun elections.

The money was reportedly recovered from 23 electoral Officers.


According to the police, the bribe given to officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was a total of N360 million.

The bribe was allegedly offered and taken at the Rivers State Government House.

A 15-man investigative panel set up by the Inspector-General of Police presented its report in Abuja today.
