APC’s Constitution Review Targeted At Tinubu, Others – Timi Frank reveals

Barely 24 hours after the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) inaugurated its constitution review committee, the party’s embattled Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Timi Frank, has faulted the exercise, alleging that it was aimed at easing out some powerful individuals.

In a statement yesterday in Abuja, Frank, who is on a technical suspension, claimed that the national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was “vigorously working to ensure that he pushes out some prominent members of the party.”

He warned that the move was capable of exacerbating the seeming crisis in the party.

According to Frank, the targets include the political grouping’s national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu “and so many others who have spoken against his leadership style which is now more of a dictator.”

Contacted, the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, declined comments but a top party source dismissed the allegation, saying Frank was playing his usual game.

The source, who did not want to be named, said it was not possible for anybody to amend the constitution of a political party just to get at an individual.

His words: “Does he have any evidence to prove that some people have been penciled down to be pushed away from the party? If he does not have, you guys in the media should avoid giving him such attention.”
