Ademola Lookman says he derive joy playing for England

Everton player and England U-19 forward, Ademola Lookman has expressed his desire to progress into the Three Lions, thereby killing any hope of representing the Super Eagles in the future.

Ademola, who was born in England to Nigerian parents, says he is happy representing the English national team, in his first interview since his goal scoring debut in Everton’s 4-0 thrashing of Manchester City.

After his display against Manchester City over the weekend, Nigeria Football Federation said they will lure the teenager to represent his fatherland.

But for Lookman, who has played at various youth levels for England, the speculation appears way off the mark.

When asked what prepared him for the goal scoring debut he had with Everton, the youngster pointed out that experience he had with the English youth team was what prepared him.

He told reporters, “I have progressed a lot the last few years, I have a very sweet experience at Charlton, learning and working my way up, which I believe is why am at Everton.
“Playing for England U-19 has also helped my career a lot. It got me exposed and there’s a whole joy that comes from playing international football, something I experienced with England.”
