Cristiano Ronaldo has won the 2016 Ballon d’Or ahead for the fourth time ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
He was announced the winner of the most prestigious football award on Monday night.
Ronaldo led Portugal to a Euro triumph this year and also lifted the Champions league trophy with his club, Real Madrid the same year.
Ronaldo had previously won in 2008 while playing for Manchester United and later in 2013 and 2014.
His award on Monday night will now see him one step away from equalling Lionel Messi who has won the award five times.
