Federal Government cut down civil servants' November salaries

According to recent reports, the federal government has reportedly drastically reduced the salaries of all civil servants in ministries, departments, and parastatals for the month of November 2016.

According to Leadership News, some workers were said to have received cuts as high as 50 percent while others could not even determine how much had been deducted.

The workers claimed that they learnt of the salary cut when an internal memo dated Wednesday, November 30, 2016, was made available to them same day.

The reasons for the deduction were due to tax, pensions and national housing fund

Findings revealed that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Public Complain Commission (PCC) last month were respectively under lock and key as a result of payment of half salaries while many others joined in November.
