Ekiti State | Kidnapped INEC Secretary regains freedom


The kidnapped Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) in Ekiti State, Dr Muslim Omoleke, has been released.

Omoleke was released by his abductors on Friday night.

The INEC scribe was kidnapped by unidentified people at Iwaraja community, near Ilesa in Osun State, on Nov.3.


The Public Relations Officer of INEC, EKiti, Alhaji Taiwo Gbadegesin confirmed the release to NAN in a telephone interview in Ado-Ekiti.
“We are grateful to you all, the press, the security agents and other sympathisers for your efforts in the quick release of Dr Muslim Omoleke. ”
He was released by his abductors late on Friday night.
“The pressmen and security did well to enhance his release from the hands of the bandits,” Gbadegesin said. The PRO also thanked the police command of Osun, Ekiti and Ondo State for their prompt response.
“Our sincere gratitude goes to the Commissioner of Police for Osun, CP Adeoye Fimihan and Commissioner of Police EKiti command, Etop James.”
