John Mikel Obi very pleased with Victor Moses’ performance at Chelsea this season

Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has expressed his delight at Victor Moses stay at Chelsea.

Since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2012, Moses has failed to secure a regular spot at Stamford Bridge and has been sent out on loan to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham.

Under new manager Antonio Conte this season, the Nigeria international forward has remained at the club where he has been impressive.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mikel Obi revealed that he never understood why the forward never stayed back to fight for a shirt in Chelsea.

The Super Eagles captain revealed that he tried several times to convince his compatriot to remain at Stamford Bridge all to no avail.
"I always told him: 'Where are you going?' every time he goes away. Where are you going? I mean, you always go out on loan, but why? Stay here and fight, you are a very good player, a young player, “ Mikel told Goal.
“You are quick, you are strong, you are fast, you can dribble, where are you going? Why are you always running away from this football club?”
This season, Moses has been actively involved in games, scoring two goals already for the 2015 Premier league champions and Mikel believes the 25-year-old has become a better player under Conte.
"I think Vic is a totally changed player. He trains well and you can see that. In the games, when he plays, he plays really well. Vic is going to have a very, very good season this season. So I wish him well," he said.
While his compatriot is making a way for himself at Chelsea, Mikel is getting ready to exit the club after 10 years.

Mikel who is the second longest serving player in the team right now earlier in the week revealed that he will start talking to other clubs in the 2017 winter transfer.
“I have one year left [on my contract],” Mikel told Goal.
“When you have a year left as a football player, you have to start planning and start thinking about what’s going to happen at the end of the season. Yes, there are going to be rumours, yes, there are going to be conversations between clubs.
“When you have a year left, in January, you are allowed to talk to other clubs and sign a pre-contract or have an agreement so, yes, I will talk to other clubs because you never know what is going to happen.”
Mikel has made 249 appearances for Chelsea, winning two Premier League titles, four FA Cup trophies, two League Cup honours, the Champions League and the Europa League.
