Businessman To Pay Wife N31m For Tricking Her Into Marriage Knowing That He Cannot Perform In Bed

A man who tricked his woman into marriage after knowing that he cannot perform in bed has been ordered by a High Court in Mombasa to pay her Sh10 Million (N31m).

It was gathered that he man had deceived his wife knowing fully well that his manhood was not functional.

Presiding over the case, Justice Maureen Odero found that Mr Patel had lured his wife Sonia into a marriage without declaring that he was impotent. The marriage took place in India but the couple soon after moved to Kenya where they settled in the up-market suburb of Nyali, The Kenyans reports.
“I find that this act of deception by the man was cruel in the extreme. It condemned the innocent woman to a life devoid of sexual intimacy and children which is the desire of any woman in a marriage,” Odero ruled.
According to court records, Sonia said that the first ten years of their marriage were peaceful despite the fact that his husband was unable to provide conjugal rights which meant that they could not have a child.

But things took a bad turn in 2006 after Patel’s parents passed on. The man became cruel to her which left her with no other option but to divorce even though it is a taboo in Indian culture.

While giving the ruling, the Judge noted that the complainant had no employment or any definite means of support at the moment and directed Patel to meet the cost of the suit. Patel was given 90 days to pay Sonia the entire sum of Sh10 Million.
