Crown Prince of Benin concludes traditional rites for his Coronation


The Benin Traditional Council declared Wednesday that His Royal Highness, Crown Prince (Amb) Eheneden Erediauwa, Edaiken N’Uselu has successfully performed all the required traditional rites including Emwinekhuan (the Royal funerites).

The Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe, who made the announcement at the palace, explained that the conclusion of the rites “completed all the requirement” by the Crown Prince “to ascend to the throne of the Oba of Benin”.


Consequently, the Benin Traditional Council further announced that “as part of preparation for the coronation of His Highness,‎ three committees have been inaugurated”. 

They include Coronation Planning Committee which has Prof. Gregory Akenzua as chairman, Finance Committee with Engr. (Dr.) Greg. Ero as chairman and Government Committee which has Chief Oseni Elamah, as chairman‎. 

According to the Iyase, the coronation programme will be announced shortly.
