Transfer News: Spain Nolito to complete move to Manchester City

Nolito will arrive in Manchester on Wednesday evening to complete his move to Pep Guardiola's City, Goal understands.

The Spain winger is poised to become the second signing of the Guardiola era after agreeing on personal terms with the Premier League club.

He is scheduled to put the finishing touches on his transfer from Celta, worth in the region of £14 million, in a visit to the City Football Academy.

He will be given a tour of the club's training facilities after completing a number of health checks at the on-site medical centre.

The 29-year-old emerged as a serious City target earlier in June, but the move was put on hold - despite his uncle's claims that everything was sealed - by Spain's participation at the European Championship in France.

But the holders were knocked out by Italy on Monday, freeing up the winger to make a one-night pit-stop in Manchester before heading off on his summer holidays.

England was also eliminated on Monday, which will allow City to step up their attempts to recruit Everton defender John Stones.

City identified Stones and Athletic's Aymeric Laporte as their top centre-back targets back in the early part of this year but was left disappointed when the latter elected to extend his contract at San Mames.

Nolito, however, is all but confirmed as the club's second summer signing, after Ilkay Gundogan sealed his much-anticipated move from Borussia Dortmund on June 2.
