Tottenham to complete £11 million move for Southampton midfielder

The 24-year-old has a year left on his Saints contract and has rejected late interest from champions Leicester to secure a move to White Hart Lane

According to Mirror Online, Tottenham are poised to seal the £11million capture of Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama this week. The 24-year-old, who had a year left on his contract, has rejected late interest from Leicester to hold out for his dream move, as MirrorFootball reported last week .

Wanyama is expected to sign a four-year deal at White Hart Lane with Celtic due for a £1.1million windfall.

The Scottish champions had inserted a 10 per cent sell-on clause into the deal that took him to St Mary’s three years ago.

Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa has insisted the move is a great one for the player.
Mwendwa: “It shows progression. Most importantly, it will help our players aim higher and be more ambitious.”
