Bizarre!!! Eight months pregnant mom is addicted to eating liquid SOAP (PHOTO)

The bizarre things people are fond of doing this days amaze us. I had to ask a doctor friend after reading this article if there was no danger attach to what this Britol woman is doing, he said it is addiction resulting from hormone change especially during pregnancy.

According to UK Daily Mail, Jess Gayford, 26, from Bristol, who is nearly eight months pregnant with her second child, can't stop eating bars of soap and liquid sanitiser.

Jess already has a five-year-old son, Alfie (middle), with partner Lee Trimby (right). During her first pregnancy she craved normal foodsThe 26-year-old has explained how the soap-eating addiction was initially spurred on by an urge to lick a bar

The mum-of-one says it all started when she had an uncontrollable desire to lick a bar of Dove and now gets through up to two bottles of handwash a week.

Jess, who has a five-year-old son with partner Lee Trimby, 31, explained how the craving was not brought on by anything specific, but 'came out of nowhere'.
She said: 'I wanted to lick a bar of Dove soap.
"I went to buy a bar and started licking it. It sounds disgusting but it's really nice."
Although partner Lee was initially worried about the effects of Jess's soap consumption on the baby, they have since been informed that it won't harm their unborn daughter.

The Bristol mother has admitted that she found it odd that the bizarre craving only reared its head in her second pregnancy.
She added: 'In my first pregnancy I wanted to eat baked beans and cheese but nothing weird.'

Jess is thought to be affected by the condition pica, whereby the person feels an insatiable urge to eat non-food items such as soil, ice or sand.

Mainly affecting children and pregnant women, it is thought to be caused by hormonal changes and deficiencies.
