John Legend visits Texas prison to promote his FREE AMERICA campaign


Award winning Singer John Legend is taking his campaign to help improve the life of Americans as regard the justice system in Texas very serious, on Thursday he visited a Texas prison to promote his FREE AMERICA campaign.

The 'All of Me' star performed a few songs at the Travis County Correctional Complex following a press conference at the Senate chamber, The Statesmen newspaper reports.

During the conference, John Legend urged the state's government to consider revamping their current correction system. He said ... 
''Every Texan deserves a better justice systems. They say everything is bigger in Texas. Yes unfortunately, that extends to the state's corrections system as well.
''Texas puts too many people behind bars, and that means taxpayers, families and communities are paying a heavy price for those policies.''
Proud husband to model Chrissy Teigen hopes bringing an end to mass incarceration will help solve some of the country's other big issues too.
''We have a serious problem with incarceration in this country. It's destroying families, it's destroying communities and we're the most incarcerated country in the world, and when you look deeper and look at the reasons we got to this place.
''We as a society made some choices politically and legislatively, culturally to deal with poverty, deal with mental illness in a certain way and that way usually involves using incarceration.''
