Singer Zayn Malik has quit boyband One Direction Group. He released statement today, saying he believed it was "the right time" to leave the band, who have sold millions of records worldwide.
In his words, he said he made his decision to quit so he can be a "normal 22-year-old", hinting that the intense speculation about his private life had become too much.
