Lupita Nyong’o has had some of the most memorable red carpet moments in recent history – but her beauty look on the Oscars 2015 red carpet? Possibly her best yet. Check out her bold and beautiful turquoise-silver eye!
Lupita Nyong’o is obviously one of the most beautiful women in the world. So we weren’t entirely surprised when we loved her turquoise-silver eye on the red carpet of the Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, Calif. on Feb. 22. If you’re loving Lupita’s look as much as we are, then you’re in luck! We’re breaking down all the details of her look below.
Lupita is a well-know red carpet superstar, but this may be one of her best looks yet! Lupita’s makeup artist Nick Barose gave her a bold pink lip and turquoise-silver eye look that was cutting-edge while still being absolutely breathtaking. The inspiration behind the look was a “modern take on 20’s glamour”.
For Lupita’s skin, Nick used Lancome’s Miracle Cushion Liquid Cushion Compact in 500 (available in April) with Le Corrector Pro Concealer Kit in 550 followed by Blush Subtil Shimmer in Petite Pomegranate and added contour and highlight with Le Duo Stick in Suede. On Lupita’s eyes Nick used Aquatique Waterproof Eyecolor Base in Sienne #5 in conjunction with Artliner in Noir, Le Stylo Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir, Color Design 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Gris Fumee and finally Grandiôse Mascara. Nick topped off Lupita’s look with a custom-blend of Le Lipstique Lip Coloring Stick in Sheer Chocolate and L’Absolu Rouge Lipcolor in Aubergine Velvet.
For Lupita’s hair, Smooth ‘N Shine celebrity hairstylist Larry Sims created a look that was smooth to the touch. First he “dampened [Lupita’s] hair with a warm towel to soften the texture.” Then he “applied Smooth ‘N Shine Smooth Olive & Tea Tree RevivOil Wrap & Set Mousse paired with Smooth ‘N Shine Argan Power 10 Styling Gel to create tiny ringlets with a small rattail comb throughout the whole head, starting at the nape of neck and moving to the front.” Next he “Attached a hooded dryer for 30 minutes … and once completely dry, [took] a large tooth bone comb and lift the ringlets to break up the texture for added volume.” Finally he “sprayed Smooth ‘N Shine Instant Repair Spray-On Polisher for added shine and smooth out any fly-aways and frizzies.”
