Shocking! Robbery Suspect reveal "they planned to Kidnap Business Mogul, Femi Otedola"


An armed robbery suspect, Ikechukwu Daniel, also known as Ike, has disclosed that his gang hatched a plan to kidnap billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, but the plot was foiled by the police. He also confessed that his gang, which was linked to the abduction of Senator Iyabo Anisholowo, operated with military uniforms and hijacked three trailers on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Ike was arrested sometimes in June at Festac Town in Lagos while negotiating the ransom of a victim kidnapped in Ibadan.

FIFA Ranking: Super Falcons remain Number One in Africa, 37th Globally


Nigeria’s Super Falcons retained their top spot in the African ranking. FIFA released an updated ranking today.

The Falcons are 37th globally remaining stable since the previous ranking. The Super Falcons have won the African Women’s cup of nations seven times and it does not appear that their continental dominance is ending anytime soon

Bomb Blast rocks Police Headquarter in Turkey


A bomb blast just outside a police headquarters in Turkey has left at least eleven police officers dead. A car bomb was detonated at a checkpoint leading to the entrance of the headquarters after the suicide bombers were unable to gain access.

Gabon’s president seeks re-election to extend family rule


Gabon’s president is looking to extend his family’s rule of the central African nation past the 50-year mark by winning a second term in an election Saturday.

Ali Bongo Ondimba took power in 2009 following the death of his father, Omar Bongo, who ruled the oil-producing country of about 1.5 million people for more than 40 years.

His strongest opposition comes from Jean Ping, a former chair of the African Union Commission who managed to get several other high-profile opposition figures to support his candidacy.

But there are still a total of nine challengers in the race and Gabon does not have a runoff system, meaning Bongo does not have to top 50 percent to secure re-election.

The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has condemned the attack, on residents of Ndiagu, Attakwu, Akegbe-Ugwu in Nkanu-West Local Government Area of Enugu State by hoodlums suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

The herdsmen numbering about 50, reportedly killed a Catholic seminarian, Lazarus Nwafor and slit the stomach of a six months pregnant woman, identified as Mrs. Nwarum in the operation that started at about 2.15am on Thursday.

1,000 less privileged students nationwide to benefits from NOUN Scholarships


The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) says it has finalised arrangements with the World Bank to grant scholarships to 1,000 less privileged students selected from every state in the country.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Abdallah Adamu, said in a statement on Friday in Lagos that the move was to key into the mandate of the Education for All (EFA).

The statement said Adamu made the disclosure when he received some members of the Arewa Students’ Forum (ASF) who visited him in Abuja.

Islamic cleric urges Hajj pilgrims to write their WILL before travelling


An Abuja-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Yahya Al-Yolawi, has advised intending pilgrims to settle their debts and leave their wills behind before travelling to Saudi Arabia.

Fulani herdsmen Killings | Human Right Group threatens to drag Buhari‎ to ICC

Oh dear! See the two little sisters abandoned by their poor parents for being girls


Police have rescued two young sisters, 8-year-old Himanshi and 3-year-old Deepali, from a small house in North-west Delhi, India after they were abandoned by their parents for being girls. They had been locked up inside their home for days before neighbours alerted Delhi Police.

When the house was broken into, the two sisters were found starved and lying on a broken cot holding each other's hand. Himanshi had deep wounds on her head and Police personnel who went to rescue them noticed worms coming out of the injuries.

Heartbroken | Man had to carry his dead wife's body for 7 miles after hospital refused to provide a vehicle


An Indian man had to carry his wife’s body on his shoulders for nearly 12 km as he had no money for a van and the hospital authorities allegedly refused to arrange one.

With his teenage daughter sobbing by his side, Dana Majhi wrapped his wife Amangadei’s body in old sheets from the bed at the hospital in Bhawanipatna town on Wednesday morning, August 24th, adjusted her on his shoulders and started walking to his home in Melghar village in Kalahandi’s Thuamul Rampur block, about 60 km away.

Teenager bags 22 years sentence for killing Nigerian man in the UK


18-year-old Kaleb Amponsah was today, Friday, August 26th, sentenced to 22 years in prison at the Old Bailey for the murder of a 27-year-old Nigerian man, after stabbing him to death in broad daylight in an east London park.

Amponsah, of Robertson Road, Newham, was found guilty on Thursday 28 July, at the Old Bailey of killing Ade Afariogun by stabbing him in the stomach in front of the victim's friends.

On Friday 29 January, the victim was in Plaistow Park with three female friends. Whilst there, they noticed Amponsah ride his bike past the group on several occasions and stare aggressively at the victim.

Unknown Gunmen burnt two Imo Poly Students to Death (Photos)


Two graduating students of Imo State Polytechnic have been reportedly burnt to death inside their hostel by suspected gunmen. 

According to a shocking report by Vanguard, two graduating students of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo in the Ohaji/Egbema local government area of the state, were reportedly burnt to death last Wednesday. 

It was learnt that the students who were set ablaze had completed their Higher National Diploma (HND) examination and were looking forward to going for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) before tragedy struck.

Pastor apprehended for Impregnating two Sisters Aged 14 and 18 (Photo)


A pastor identified as Kokih Emmanuel has been arrested and remanded in custody.

Pastor Kokih Emmanuel of the Cross Over Ministry in Kedjom Kekuh, Tubah sub division in Mezam in the North West region of Cameroon, was arrested and remanded in custody for impregnating two sisters.

The two sisters have been identified as Akombom Marie Claire and Brenda Nyingmah.

It is the end of the road for the leader of a notorious kidnapping and robbery gang terrorizing Oghara community, in Ethiope West LGA of Delta state, as he was lynched to death by an angry mob.

The man identified as Onos Okeribo lost his life through Jungle Justice on Wednesday, August 24th. He was apprehended by members of a vigilante group.
