Nigerian Army Releases Statement Over Brutalized Ikorodu Lady, Detains 6 Soldiers

The Nigerian Army has reacted to the reports of a lady, Ruth Orji, being attacked by soldiers attached to 174 Battalion, Ikorodu, around 8:30pm on Sunday.

The woman was attacked and severely injured by soldiers in Ikorodu, Lagos State, reportedly because she challenged a soldier who slapped her brother for no reason. Ruth sued the Nigerian Army and her attackers, among other things, demanded N250m as damages.

The woman who was attacked and severely injured by soldiers in Ikorodu, Lagos State has sued the Nigerian Army and her attackers. She is, among other things, demanding N250m as damages.

Ruth Orji was allegedly attacked by soldiers attached to 174 Battalion, Ikorodu, around 8:30pm on Sunday.

Images of her, showing the injuries she sustained have gone viral on the social media, sparking outrage.

4-year-old Saglana Salchak has been called the bravest girl in Siberia after she walked five miles through a wolf-packed forest, across a frozen river to get help for her 60-year-old grandmother who was unconscious.

Saglana, who lives with her grandmother and blind grandfather in Tuva republic, Russia, set out with just a box of matches as temperatures dropped below 29 degrees. She walked for over three hours in the cold before she was seen by neighbours who took her to the hospital for check-up. A woman was caught on camera entering a grocery store, Food 4 Less, in Riverside with her 2-year-old daughter. While there, the girl wandered off but the mother did not bother to seek out her child and she simply continued shopping. While shopping, someone brought the child over to her but she replied, “Oh, just leave her” and continued shopping.
