Man dragged to court for keeping dead body at home

A 45year-old man, John Ekundayo, has been dragged before Iyaganku Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan for abandoning a human corpse in his apartment.

In the charge sheet number MI/323c/2017, Ekundayo was slammed with one count of improper or indecent interference with the dignity of the deceased by abandoning her in a room instead of burying the corpse.

Kano Sharia police nabs 120 suspected sex workers

Kano Sharia police Sunday night arrested 120 suspected commercial sex workers at a popular recreational centre 21 km south of Kano.

The the Sharia police in a joint operations with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA), also nabbed 37 boys who are believed to be drug abusers.

Briefing reporters in his office Monday, the Director General, Hisbah board, Alhaji Abba Saidu Sufi said that the night raid was based on a tip off following reported cases of indecency in the area by residents.

The Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described as “a lie from the pit of hell” the allegation that it receives N50m monthly from governors who are members of the party.

Cairo Ojougboh, deputy national chairman of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the party, had alleged that the national caretaker committee chaired by Makarfi receive N50 monthly from PDP governors as subvention.

Among the beneficiaries, Olaobaju said, were a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr Dele Belgore; and a former Minister of National Planning, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, who both received N450m.

Police gun down two armed robbers in fierce battle after allegedly stealing N105, 000

Two robbery suspects belonging to a three-man gang have been killed by officers of the Bayelsa state police command.

They were shot dead after they allegedly robbed a supermarket in Yenagoa and carted away the sum of N105,000.

A police team from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) arrived the robbery scene following a distress call and immediately engaged the robbers in a gunfight which resulted in fatal injuries to two members of the three-man gang.

Federal Government bans helicopter shuttle from Kaduna to Abuja

The National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno, has banned the planned helicopter shuttle service from Kaduna to Abuja by some helicopter companies.

In a memo banning the move, Munguno said, “In view of the closure of the airport, air travelers will be required to travel by road/train to Abuja from Kaduna International Airport. This will undoubtedly cause constraints on the movement of some passengers who will aim to travel using other means, notably the use of commercial ferry helicopters.
