Dogara Congratulates Osinbajo At 60

Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara has eulogised Nigeria’s acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for demonstrating exceptional capacity, humility and patriotism in handling the affairs of state.

In a congratulatory message to mark Osinbajo’s 60 years Birthday Anniversary, Dogara commended the acting president for exhibiting abiding faith and commitment to the ideals of democracy and rule of law.

We’ll deliver Lagos-Ibadan Rail Project by December – Osinbajo

Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday said that the Federal Government will deliver a fast and efficient rail service system between Lagos and Ibadan within a projected time frame of December 2018.

Osinbajo, who spoke at the Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Segment II Lagos-Ibadan Rail Project with Extension to Lagos Port Complex, Apapa, held at the Nigerian Railway Corporation compound, Ebute-metta, recalled that President Buhari, during his visit to China in January 2016, reopened negotiation on the Chinese support for the project under the Lagos-Kano modernization project.

Nigeria Police vow to rescue kidnapped DPO in Delta unhurt

The Delta Police Command has intensified efforts to rescue the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) in charge of ‘C’ Division, Asaba, who was allegedly kidnapped by gunmen last Sunday along Agbor-Asaba highway.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Asaba that the police had launched manhunt to rescue the DPO.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity to the President, Laolu Akande made this known in disclaimer on Tuesday.

One could see him practically and personally experiencing the pains of the abandoned and abused people of the Niger Delta. Even when there was a mini riot in the hall he remained calmed and probably prayerful as an ordained man of God.
