The Chairman, Ulama Council of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bi’dah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Zamfara chapter, Sheikh Abdullahi Dalla-Dalla, has called on Nigerians to continue to pray for the health of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dalla-Dalla, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Thursday said, “Nigerians, irrespective of differences should pray to the Almighty Allah to grant President Muhammadu Buhari good health.

Female Student Dies During Marathon S*x on #Valentine’s Day

A 26-year-old man has confessed to the Police that his undergraduate girlfriend died on Valentine’s Day during what he termed “rough s*x.”

In his confessional statement to Police, he claimed that he and his girlfriend spent the night drinking before having “rough s*x” and falling asleep.

An 18-year old serial phone thief in Oshodi has been arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.

The suspect, Sadeeq Wasiu, who had been imprisoned seven times, was re-arrested in Oshodi on Tuesday after several months of being on the operatives’ wanted list.

Wasiu, alias “Omo Eiye”, as he is popularly called in Oshodi was arrested at Oshodi Under Bridge while trying to escape after snatching an Infinix Note 3 from an undergraduate.

Benue State Governor, Ortom sacks four commissioners

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Wednesday sacked four of his commissioners and a special adviser.

This was contained in the statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr. Tahav Argezua.

Argezua, in the statement, said the governor also announced the appointment of Prof. Anthony Ijohor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, as the Secretary to the Benue State Government.

‘Ojukwu would have joined APC’ - Chief Ralph Okeke

A governorship aspirant in Anambra state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Ralph Okeke on Wednesday said the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu would have joined the APC should he be alive today.

Workers Kick Against BRT, LAGBUS Fare Hike

Workers of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) yesterday rejected the increment in transport fare of Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) and LAGBUS buses approved by the Lagos State government.

The orgainsed labour unions described the act as being wicked to workers as there was no corresponding increase in salary, not minding the present biting recession in the country. The TUC, therefore, called on the governor to “correct his mistake by withdrawing the approval immediately.”

The Lagos State TUC Chairman, Francis Ogunremi, said the increment has come at no good time for the state because the country is presently faced with so much hardship that people are striving to survive.

NCC bans SIM card registrations in open places

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has banned the registration SIM cards in open and “uncontrolled environment”.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to militia operating in Agatu area of the state to surrender themselves to law enforcement agencies or face the consequences of their action. The Governor who received arms and ammunition recovered by the army in Agatu, was reacting to the recent attack on military personnel in the area which led to the killing of a soldier. He described the incident as unacceptable.

Governor Ortom restated the resolve of his administration to assist security agencies in identifying those behind the act to face justice and advised youths still in possession of illegal weapons to surrender such arms to the appropriate authorities.

Police Special Team Arrest Notorious Kidnap King, Omoni (Photo)

The police in Abuja have announced the arrest of 38-year old Joseph Omoni in connection with the kidnapping of the Secretary of the Isheri Estate Landlord Association, an incident in which three private security men were killed. 

Police described Omoni as a “vicious and notorious kidnapper” who [also] “participated actively in the kidnap of Turkish school children and members of staff in Ogun State.”

Church Member Arrested For Duping Pastors and Members Of N5.1M in Abuja

A member of a Pentecostal church in Gwarinpa has been arrested for allegedly defrauding two pastors and other church members of about N5.1million. The suspect had posed as a staff of Aso Radio and showed some cars to them at the premises of the radio station which he said were to be auctioned.

City News learnt that one of the pastors showed interest in buying five vehicles and paid him N3.1milion while the other pastor and some members of the congregation paid N2 million for several cars among the supposed vehicles to be auctioned.

A police source said the two pastors have engaged in several prayer sessions since the case happened.
