Two women who supported a counter-rally organized by supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari were recorded on tape begging for N100 to buy pure water after they got thirty at the end of the rally.

The two unidentified women revealed that they had been compelled to attend the rally by one of their neighbours. The video posted by @Yarkafanchan showed one of the women carrying a placard which read, ‘We believe in President Muhammadu Buhari making Nigeria great again’ as they narrated how they found themselves at the place.

A former national publicity secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, (ACF), Mr Anthony Sani has warned that Nigeria will collapse if President Muhammadu Buhari loses the 2019 presidential elections.

While speaking in an interview with Leadership in Kaduna, Sani said that no force will stop President Muhammadu Buhari and the north to seek a second term in the 2019 polls. A laptop thief is to spend the next seven years in jail, according to an Abeokuta Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The court sentenced 28-year-old Gbenga Salako to seven years imprisonment for breaking into a woman’s apartment in broad daylight and stealing a laptop worth N70, 000.

Salako whose address was not provided was tried for break-in and stealing.

The accused was first arraigned on August 24, 2016 and he pleaded guilty to the charges brought against him.

Regulate Social media usage by Youths – Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammed Saad Abubakar III, has called for the regulation of social media usage by the youths, saying the medium was being used to fuel conflicts around the world.

Walter Onnoghen set to be confirmed as Chief Justice of Nigeria

The brief was filed late Sunday with the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in support of an ongoing lawsuit against the ban.

It charged that the ban “inflicts significant harm on American business, innovation, and growth as a result,” according to a copy of the document published by US media outlets.

The Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of eight persons in a ghastly accident on Katsina-Kano road in Charanchi Local Government, Katsina State.

Declaring his judgment in a suicide case involving a 23-year-old mother who murdered herself after some people used the Facebook to accuse her of killing a baby, the judge had declared, “Social media is a powerful and effective tool and at times it is an evil tool when it is abused …”

The accusers (two women) had hacked into the Facebook account of Jayne Pearce, and posted a ‘fake confession’ on her timeline.

A 61-year-old leader of a kidnap gang in Port-harcourt, Rivers State, Jonkin Chibuzor Nkwuozor, was arrested and tHarcourtcourt on Friday for allegedly killing a personnel of the Department of State Services, DSS, Uzoma, after kidnapping his wife, two children and his sister-in-law on November 16 along Ngor-Okpala/Etche Road in Rivers State.
