The Nigerian Army has said recruitment into the army is free and no one is expected to pay for it.
The Army said this in a statement by its spokesperson, Sani Usman.

“This is to inform the millions of followers and supporters of Apostle Johnson Suleman all over the world that the man of God is very safe, and that the attempted arrest by the Department of State Security on the man of God on the instruction and orders of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari was unsuccessful.

“The agency of government that has responsibility for making sure that this sector delivers on its potential is not doing well enough. We are owed a lot of money,” Elumelu told CNBC Africa.
