Jackie Chan collaborates with Bollywood for ‘Kung Fu Yoga’

What do you get when Hong Kong martial arts expert Jackie Chan collaborates with a host of Indian film actors? An action-adventure movie titled “Kung Fu Yoga” of course.

Screen legend Chan was in Mumbai this week to promote his latest flick a slapstick comedy by Hong Kong director Stanley Tong that also features Bollywood’s Sonu Sood.

“Kung Fu Yoga”, which is released in China this weekend and in India on February 3, centres on two professors who embark on an epic journey to find lost treasure.

A man who broke into a classmate’s home in 2007 and stabbed the teenager and his parents to death in 2007 has killed himself in prison.

Cumberland County Deputy Coroner Jeff Miller said on Monday that 25-year-old Alec Kreider was found hanging in his cell Friday at the state prison in Camp Hill.

The Department of Corrections says staff members tried to revive Kreider after a guard found him unconscious in his cell. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Father of celebrated Ghanaian actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson has passed. He died on Monday according to sources.

Yvonne has confirmed the sad news early Tuesday but didn’t give further details.

Mr Toby Lanzer, the Humanitarian Coordinator for the Sahel, said this while Spotlighting the desperate plight of millions in Africa’s Lake Chad basin.

The top United Nations humanitarian official for the Sahel region also called for international solidarity with the people in urgent need.

According to a new report by food experts, it has been discovered that overcooking potatoes could increase the risk of cancer.

Food Standards Agency is urging cooks to move away from fried, baked and toasted foods and not serve anything more than a light golden yellow.

The warnings are based on concerns about consumption of the chemical acrylamide, which is caused by the browning process.

A lion bit the heads and legs of two animal keepers while they were bathing him inside a cage in preparation for a photo shoot.

The lion, reportedly a 10-year-old male, was chained and did not escape.

The keepers, a man in his 20s, and a female in his 50s, remain conscious but were severely injured.

Four domestic staff and Driver of Former Jigawa Governor arrested for stealing his N100m

The Assistant Inspector-General, AIG, in charge of Police Zone 1, Kano, has detained a driver and four domestic staff of former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, over alleged theft of N100 million.

Security sources in Kano confided in Vanguard that the five suspects were taken into custody last Thursday, following “personal complaint” to the police by Alhaji Sule Lamido.

The multiple sources further revealed that the money, which was allegedly kept under “ground bunker” in the wife’s wing of the multi-billion naira apartment at NNDC Quarters of Kano, was pilfered to “insignificant amount” before it was discovered.
