Kwara State | Prison warders allegedly beat six inmates to death

On Thursday, there was pandemonium at the Oke Kura Prison, Ilorin, Kwara State, after six inmates were reportedly beaten to death by warders. According to reports, 11 other inmates were seriously injured during the fracas which occurred around 2pm.

It was learned that the inmates, who were in the condemned inmates’ cell, had protested the substandard quality of food they were served. They reportedly demanded to see the controller of the prison to address their grievances.

A temple elephant went on a rampage in India pushing over and flipping a tractor whilst terrified residents looked on. The elephant, who was brought to a vet after being bitten by a mad dog, went out of the control after being administered an anti-rabies injection.

Al-Mustapha was arrested and tried for the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, wife of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Moshood Abiola, following Abacha’s death in 1998.
