Strong indications have emerged that the leadership of the Senate and the Presidency have reached a deal on the 2017-2019 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper earlier rejected by the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

A source close to the leadership of the Senate said this was the fallout of the meetings between President Muhammadu Buhari; President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Soldier who fakes his own kidnap arrested in Eket

An army officer, Musa Lawal, who was reportedly kidnapped in Calabar last Thursday, allegedly faked his abduction.

Lawal was abducted around 10am after leaving a bank along Calabar Road in the Cross River State capital by his cronies, according to a security source.

It was learnt on Sunday that Lawal had allegedly arranged for his abduction to pave the way for an undisclosed illegal movement to Port Harcourt in Rivers State.

SHOCKING! Driver disappears as truck ran seven to death in Ibadan

A driver of an articulated vehicle at the weekend lost control at the New Garage area of Ibadan, Oyo State, crushing no fewer than seven persons to death.

Five people also sustained life-threatening injuries during the fatal auto mishap.

Wow! Couple finally wed 65 years after parents forbid them from marrying

A couple who called off their engagement because the bride’s parents did not approve of her groom has finally married 65 years on.

Davy Moakes, 86, and Helen Andre, 82, fell in love while studying at art college and got engaged in 1951.

But Helen’s parents did not want their daughter to marry an artist and called the wedding off two years later.
