Abike Dabiri Arewa says She has no Facebook account

It has come to the attention of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa that some fake `Facebook’ accounts have been opened in her name. In a statement by her Special Assistant on Media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun warned members of the public to be wary of such accounts as Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa has no ``Facebook’’ accounts.

It was also brought to our notice that these hackers opened 11 different accounts of Facebook in Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa’s name and was using the various accounts to dupe their unsuspecting and innocent Nigerians.

Pregnant woman robbed on her way to given birth to her baby girl

A pregnant Florida woman, Julienne Antoine, was reportedly robbed on her due date, just hours before giving birth to a baby girl last month. According to Fox 35 Orlando, Antoine was taking a walk to help relieve her contractions on the morning of Oct. 24, when an unidentified man walked up to her, attacked her and stole her gold necklace from her neck.

Antoine said the necklace, which was worth $1500, was a birthday gift and had sentimental value. She said:

A plastic surgeon in China has successfully grown an artificial ear on a man's arm in a pioneering medical procedure. The patient, surnamed Ji, lost his right ear in an accident and yearned to have it back, reports Huanqiu.com, an affiliation to People's Daily. 

Doctor Guo Shuzhong from a hospital in Xi'an, China's Shaanxi Province, used Mr Ji's cartilage from his ribs to build the new ear; and he expects to transplanted the organ to the man's head in about four months.

Two Nigerian-Americans were arrested early Saturday morning in New York for possessing forged credit cards and a credit card encoder, police have reported.

Olisa Uzoegwu, 20, and Chidubem Adi, 19, were pulled over after driving through a red light at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning on Long Island in New York. The police officers noticed a bag of marijuana in the vehicle's backseat, causing the officers to search the car.

Forty Miners Killed By Unknown Gunmen In Zamfara State

No fewer than 40 miners have been killed, while several others sustained serious injuries when they were attacked in Bindi town, in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State by suspected herdsmen.

Eyewitness told Metro that the hoodlums had invaded a mining site Monday afternoon and began to shoot sporadically at the miners.

The Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday said it had arrested a 20-year-old primary school teacher, Collins Obi, for raping a 10-year-old boy in Ibadan.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, said the teacher committed sodomy on November 5, 2016, explaining that apart from teaching in the school where the victim attended, he was also the boy’s personal teacher.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Zanna, has released two Mobile Police Officers who allegedly kidnapped one Mr. Umukoro Daniel. The two officers are attached to Mobile Police Unit 31 in Ogwashi Ogwashi-Uku.

The suspected kidnappers, SaharaReporters learnt, are Corporals Musa Edon and Idide Oreva. They were said to have been arrested on a tip-off by a special team of the Delta State House of Assembly Anti-kidnapping Committee, which is made up of Messrs. Austine Opumbor, Mabiaku Ommassan,. Abraham Obarume and Tony Edafiogho, at the Okpara Waterside in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State. Other members of the gang, however, escaped.

JAMB registrar says they don’t have money to conduct UTME

Is-haq Oloyede, the registrar of JAMB, has said that the board cannot adequately fund the conduct of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The professor said this in his Abuja office on Wednesday while he received a delegation of the senate committee on tertiary institutions and Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETFund).

He said: “The major challenge facing the board has to do with funding; we take N5,000 from each candidate; we do not even have the money to conduct the examination.

The police in Ogun have arrested a 70-year-old man, Gabriel Akindele, for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old deaf and dumb child in Owode-Ijako, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect was arrested following a complaint from the mother of the girl, who noticed an unusual behaviour by her child after the incident and through the use of sign language, she was able to ascertain what the septuagenarian had allegedly done to her.
