#ProudlyNaija: Olusegun Obasanjo Orders for Made-in-Aba Shoes

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has made an order for Made-in-Aba shoes as a way of supporting the Buy Nigeria and Grow the Naira.

Sun News reports that Obasanjo made the order through the Chief Marketing Officer of Made-in-Aba Product, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State during the 2016 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Forum in Lagos.

Speaking as one of the panelists at the forum, Obasanjo said to Ikpeazu: “Governor, I listened to you and I commend you for what you’re doing in Abia. Please keep doing what you’ve told us you’re doing. So, Governor Abia, you have to send a pair of the shoes to me. I use size 42.”

Obasanjo to FG: 'Let us see results'

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the Federal Government to ensure that the results of its development initiatives are felt by Nigerians.

Obasanjo, who was one of the keynote speakers at the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Forum, which held on Saturday in Lagos, commended the government for its programmes aimed at creating jobs and diversifying the economy.

Jibrin reveals How Dogara allegedly blackmailed his colleagues to keep quiet

Ex-Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin, on Saturday, alleged that his colleagues were blackmailed into keeping silent over the issue of budget padding currently rocking the lower chamber.

Jibrin said this in an interview in Abuja, on Saturday.

He spoke to commemorate the first 100 days of the crisis over the 2016 budget ,which earned him a 180-day suspension from the House of Representatives.

IPOB says Constitution of Republic of Biafra would be collective

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said that the constitution of the proposed Republic of Biafra would be a collective responsibility of all the people and not that of an individual as was the case of Nigeria where the former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar wrote the 1999 Constitution and forced Nigerians to accept.

It also, stated that the constitution would neither make provisions for Sharia even as Biafra would not belong to the Organisation of Islamic Countries, OIC. In its first enlightenment series for the people, IPOB further said that every Biafran would participate in the formulation and ratification of the new constitution as no single individual would arrogate the power of the people to him or herself to write the “nation’s constitution.” IPOB Spokespersons, Emma Nmezu and Dr Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya made this known in a statement in Enugu yesterday.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said on Saturday in Lagos that Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, Africa’s richest woman by Forbes reckoning, was among the 25 billionaires he made during his tenure as President.

Obasanjo stated this at the 2016 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Forum. The former president was reacting to an allegation by Alakija at the event, that the Obasanjo administration frustrated her effort when she ventured into the oil business.
