Fani Kayode to be arraign on November 10 - EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is to arraign former Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, on new charges of fraud on November 10.

EFCC’s spokesman, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), through an SMS in Abuja on Tuesday.

Uwujaren said that the commission had already served the former minister with court processes, he did not give further details.

Prof. Akintunde Akinwande, the Chairman-designate for the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, has rejected his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The nominee, who was expected to appear before Senate Committee on Power for screening, was conspicuously absent from the scheduled screening.‎

The Senate Committee members, who were ready to screen the nominees for the NERC Board, immediately called it off upon discovering that Akinwande was absent.‎

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith released an instruction Tuesday regarding burial and cremation, reiterating the Church's teaching that cremation, while strongly discouraged, can be permissible under certain restrictions but that scattering the ashes is forbidden.

“To rise with Christ”, published Oct. 25, states that while cremation “is not prohibited” the Church “continues to prefer the practice of burying the bodies of the deceased, because this shows a greater esteem towards the deceased.”
