The story making the rounds suggest that a dark-skinned man whose picture is contained in the post is a Nigerian reportedly based in Lagos State. He is purported to be extremely rich with no verifiable source of income.

Some quarters has alleged he is a chronic internet fraudster popularly called 'Yahoo Boy'. His real name has been investigated to be Tobiloba Isaac Jolaoso aka King Tee who parades himself as a rapper and an adult filmmaker.

A suspected member of a notorious armed robbery gang that had been terrorising residents of Igando, a Lagos suburb, was yesterday arrested while attempting to rape one of his female victims during an operation.

The suspect, Akeem Folorunsho, and some members of his gang, as gathered, stormed 6, Ismail Abass Street at about 5a.m. and gained entrance into one of the apartments. According to Vanguard, the cutlass-wielding men, according to a tenant , ordered a lady in the room to lie down in a bid to rape her.

NDLEA seizes 2,200kg illicit drugs, arrests five drug peddlers

The Borno State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency arrested five suspected drug peddlers and seized about 2,200 kilogrammes of various psychotropic substances,  the state commander has said.

The Commander, Mr Ona Ogilegwu, announced this on Monday in Maiduguri while briefing newsmen.

He said three of the suspects, Abubakar Musa, Aliase Olando and Idris Salisu were arrested at Muna Garage, Maiduguri, while others were nabbed in Biu Local Government Area of the state.

Omokri to Buhari: Emulate Jonathan by sacking officials accused of corruption

Former Special Assistant to then president Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, yesterday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to borrow a leaf from his former principal by firing the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and other officials accused of corruption.

Omokri, who was reacting to Buhari’s comment that officials in his administration were accused of corruption without evidence, pointed out that Jonathan relieved his ministers (Prof Barth Nnaji and Stella Oduah) of their duties on the strength of allegations leveled against them, even when no investigation was carried out.

South Africa submit request to leave International Criminal Court

In a move that comes as a surprise to many, South Africa has announced it is pulling out of the International Criminal Court and has initiated the withdrawal process. This comes on the heels of Burundi's announcement that it was leaving the court.

A written notice of South Africa's intention was submitted to the UN secretary general, said Tshililo Michael Masutha, the country's justice minister. The withdrawal from the international court will be formalized one year after the notification.

Izu Reuben Junior, the brother to late Shooting Stars (3SC)  of Ibadan footballer Izu Joseph (left), who was shot dead last Sunday by the JTF in Rivers State has come out to categorically deny claims by the JTF that Izu was shot in a den of cultists (a cultist's shrine), saying the JTF shot Izu Joseph twice contrary to reports released by the JTF Military that he was killed by a stray bullet.

In an emotional and heart breaking tale, Reuben explained how his brother was relaxing around his family compound in his hometown, Okarki - a boundary between Rivers and Bayelsa states, when officers from JTF in pursuant of criminals shot him on his leg at first, and even though he pleaded with the JTF officers that he wasn't a criminal and showed them his club ID card to buttress his claim, they still shot him again and then dragged his body to a waterfront, covering his blood trail with sand in the process.
