Alarming! See The Number of People Currently Undergoing HIV Testing and Treatment in Nigeria

It has been revealed that as many as 2.4 million Nigerians are undergoing HIV testing and treatment.

This development was made known by the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria.

The Institute recently said that more than 2.3 million Nigerians are currently undergoing HIV testing and treatment in parts of the country.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Chief Executive Officer of the institute, Dr. Patrick Dakum, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja.

The Niger State Government said it would discontinue the payment of the West African Senior School Examination Certificate Examination and National Examination Council fees for its students in secondary schools in the state.

The state governor, Sani Bello, disclosed this on Tuesday when he visited the Justice Legbo Kutigi Secondary School to inspect the ongoing renovation of the school in Lavun Local Government Area of the state.

Bello said the government could not continue to pay N800m every year for students only for just five per cent of them to pass the examinations.

The four pupils, Abu, Emmanuel Okonkwo, Jeremiah Ruth, Isaac Adebisi, Vice Principal, Junior School, AO Oyesola and English teacher, Lukman Oyerinde, who were abducted last Thursday at the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla in Epe have been released by the kidnappers around 10:30pm, Tuesday night.

The kidnappers initially demanded N120 million for the release of the abducted people but then reduced it to N3.5m on Sunday.
